Marvin M. Smith is a partner and practices primarily in the areas of hospital law, medical malpractice, insurance law, general litigation, mediation, and arbitration. He is an experienced mediator and arbitrator, having mediated thousands of matters over the years. Mr. Smith mediates all types of civil matters and has occasionally mediated criminal matters. Mr. Smith has served both as sole arbitrator and as a member of an arbitration panel in arbitration proceedings. He has over forty (40) years of legal experience, including service as a state magistrate judge and state district judge.
He served as District Judge, Seventh District, State of Idaho (1991–1996) and served as Magistrate Judge, Seventh District, State of Idaho (1988–1991)
Marvin is a former president and secretary of the Seventh District Bar Association. He chaired the committee for the new Bonneville County jail facility. He served as a board member for the Bonneville County Museum. He was a bencher and founder of Inns of Court (Eagle Rock).
