ReadPaul Street has returned to the private practice of law, joining Hawley Troxell in an of-counsel role, along with his former Moffatt Thomas colleagues.
Paul has practiced law for over 44 years, half of which was spent in private practice at Moffatt Thomas. In 1999, he became General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Building Materials Holding Corporation–a publicly held lumber and building materials distribution company. In 2015, it merged and became BMC Stock Holding, Inc. (Nasdaq BMCH), and Paul became General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. BMCH is a leading provider of diversified building products and services in the U.S. residential construction market with over 3 billion in sales, approximately 10,000 employees, and 93 distribution locations in 18 states. On June 1, 2017, Paul transitioned from his role as General Counsel and subsequently retired on September 15, 2017, although he continues to provide services to BMCH on a consulting basis.
Throughout his entire private practice, Paul has enjoyed an active transactional practice representing both sellers and buyers in over 100 business transactions in addition to a large number of real estate transactions. In his role as General Counsel for BMCH, Paul oversaw the legal aspects of the corporation’s financing through asset-based loans and the issuance of notes. In his role as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, he had responsibility for SEC filings and compliance along with corporate governance.
Paul will leverage his experience and focus on advising clients on corporate law matters, including corporate governance issues and business and real estate transactions.
