Biography

Howard practices in Hawley Troxell’s Pocatello office, where he concentrates on transactional matters, commercial litigation, and general business counsel and advice, with particular experience in the semiconductor industry.

Howard is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, has been named annually since 2012 in Best Lawyers in America – Commercial Litigation and Corporate Law, and has received the Idaho State Journal’s Business and Achievement Professional of the Year Award (2011), Pocatello High School Education Foundation’s Distinguished Alumnus Award (2014), and the Idaho State Bar’s Professionalism Award (2016). He served as a Lawyer Representative of the District of Idaho to the Ninth Circuit Conference of the United States Courts from 2014 through 2016 (with Emeritus status in 2017 and 2018).

In addition to his professional contributions, Howard has been engaged with multiple civic and community organizations, including Rotary Club of Pocatello (where he’s been an active member since 1986, served on the Board of Directors, and is past President); the Board of Governors of Bannock Regional Medical Center (now known as Portneuf Medical Center), including 15 years as Chairman of the Board; and Idaho State University’s Bengal Foundation Board of Directors. In addition, he serves as Executive Director of the Nonesuch Oar & Paddle Club (comprised of Howard and his fellow teammates from the undefeated 1968-1972 Harvard Varsity Lightweight Crews, who continue to row each October in the annual Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston).
