Biography

Landon Brown is an attorney in the firm’s Business and Real Estate practice groups. His practice focuses on a variety of business and transactional matters, such as drafting purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements, entity formation documents, and governance documents. Landon is also well-versed in planning and zoning, land use, and development matters, bringing nearly a decade of legal experience with him to the firm.

SIGNIFICANT REPRESENTATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Counsel for an Idaho county in all planning and zoning issues; met regularly with Planning and Zoning Director, Planning and Zoning Commission, and Board of County Commissioners to advise on land use matters, legal compliance, and state and federal regulation; attended public meetings and public hearings and advised client on procedure and risks; advised and assisted the client in processing land use applications; represented client in litigation related to land use issues.
  • Idaho counsel for a real property investment company based in California; served as representation in general property matters, including title reviews, quiet title actions, evictions, easement negotiations, and general property litigation; negotiated property resolutions while balancing corporate resources.
  • General representation of a real property development company; negotiated boundary disputes and easements; submitted land use applications, including property boundary adjustments and conditional use permits
  • Represented a development corporation in easement litigation; successfully negotiated an easement that allowed the client to proceed with development
  • Defense litigation counsel for Idaho municipalities; defended against employment, tort, and civil rights claims; argued and advocated for clients at hearings in state and federal courts, including arguing before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and obtaining favorable results.
  • Defense litigation counsel for a California-based semiconductor company; served as representation in a breach of lease lawsuit; corresponded regularly with Associate Vice President and Deputy General Counsel to discuss litigation strategy, corporate impact, and potential resolutions; negotiated a settlement that delivered a positive outcome for the client.
  • Represented state licensing boards in prosecuting administrative licensing violations; reviewed investigations and met with Boards to advise on disciplinary recommendations; negotiated settlements and prosecuted licensees in administrative hearing procedures
  • Performed pro bono work representing guardian-ad-litems in child protection cases.
