Insight Tom Mortell moderates Idaho Business Review Breakfast Series Panel

On October 6, 2020, Tom Mortell, partner at Hawley Troxell, moderated one of the Idaho Business Review Breakfast Series panels. The panel, titled “Keeping Idaho Healthy: Innovators shaping the industry” included Odette Bolano, President and CEO Saint Alphonsus Health System; Greg Donaca, CPA, President and CEO, Delta Dental of Idaho; Heidi Hart, CEO, Terry Reilly Health System; Dr. Laura McGeorge, St. Luke’s Health System Medical Director, Primary and Specialty Care; and Daniel Reed, M.D., Physician Director of Family Practice.

The Idaho Business Review hosts five panel discussions throughout the year featuring five or six experts covering timely, relevant business issues. Prior to COVID-19. all Breakfast Series events featured a continental breakfast and were be held at the Grove Hotel in Downtown Boise, 245 S. Capitol Boulevard. Due to the outbreak, these discussions are now held on Zoom.  The Idaho Business Review hopes to return to the Grove once it is safe for public health. Each discussion begins at 10 a.m. and runs for roughly one hour.

Tom Mortell is a partner at Hawley Troxell. He is chair of the firm’s Health law practice group as well as a member of the firm’s Board of Partners. His health care practice focuses on advising hospitals and other health care providers on all aspects of health care law. He assists health care providers in business transactions, including the acquisition of competing entities, the formation of entities or facilities jointly-owned by hospitals and physicians, the acquisition of physician practices, and professional services contracts between hospitals and physicians. Additionally, he advises hospital boards on issues relating to physician integration, compliance, governance, and strategic planning.
