Hawley Troxell Honorees of Idaho Business Review’s Leaders in Law and Excellence in Finance

Congratulations to Hawley Troxell attorneys Steve Frinsko, Sarah Reed, and John Ashby on receiving Idaho Business Review’s 2021 Leaders in Law award, along with congratulations to Susan Olson on receiving Idaho Business Review’s 2021 Excellence in Finance award.

Idaho Business Review’s Leaders in Law award is judged by previous Leaders in Law honorees. The Idaho Business Review’s Leaders in Law award recognizes all of these qualities and is dedicated to individuals whose leadership, both in the legal profession and in the community, has had a positive impact.

Idaho Business Review’s Excellence in Finance award honors outstanding performance in the banking, corporate, investment, education, and professional sectors. Honorees are based on the financial professional’s track record of success & leadership and fiscal accomplishment, which set a high bar for their company and Idaho’s business economy.

Steve Frinsko is the Business Law Practice Group leader and member of the firm’s Business and Real Estate Law Practice Groups. He is also a member of the board of partners. His practice focuses on all aspects of business and real estate law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate compliance, entity formation and governance, commercial transactions, intellectual property licensing, antitrust compliance, and insurance. His M&A experience includes transactions involving both public and private companies, and his current client base covers the gamut from startups to long-established national companies.

Sarah Reed is an attorney in the Banking and Real Estate groups and is Chair of the Real Estate Law Practice Group. She represents a wide variety of lenders and borrowers in the documentation and due diligence necessary for securitized lending. Sarah has significant experience in real estate transactions and title and management, including acquisitions, leases, restrictive covenants and easements, zoning, and the resolution of property management issues.

John Ashby is an experienced employment lawyer and is Chair of Hawley Troxell’s Employment Law Practice Group. John represents employers in all areas of employment law, including wrongful discharge, discrimination, and fair labor standard practice claims. He also advises employers on compliance with state and federal employment laws and conducts management training on a variety of employment law topics. John believes that good training and a proactive approach can prevent most employment law claims. However, when employees do raise claims, John represents employers in court or in proceedings before the Idaho Human Rights Commission, the EEOC, and the Department of Labor.

Susan Olson provides leadership on firm finances, operations, growth, and business initiatives. She joined the firm in 2001 after spending time in the healthcare and finance industries. Guided by the firm’s objectives, culture, and the ethical requirements of the legal profession, Susan is responsible for all financial and operational functions of the 75+ attorney law firm. She is at the forefront of the firm’s merger and acquisitions strategies. It is Susan’s duty to ensure the firm meets its financial goals and objectives and has the proper operational controls and people systems in place to achieve the firm’s business objective – exceptional client service. Susan provides constant attention to the improvement of the organization to ensure financial strength and operating efficiencies of the business of law. Susan is a Certified Legal Manager.
