ReadAs the CEO of the firm, Susan works closely with Hawley Troxell’s Board of Partners, including its co-managing partners, while leading and cultivating an exceptional professional management team. She provides leadership on firm finances, operations, growth, and strategic business initiatives. She joined the firm in 2001 after spending time in the health care and finance industries.
Susan is responsible for providing a sustainable and scalable business platform, with proper operational controls in place, to support the firm’s 100 plus attorneys and their clients in seven locations. She is a key player in the firm’s strategic growth initiatives and has actively participated in the firm’s combination with several other prominent law firms or groups of attorneys, large and small. Since 2015, Susan and her management team have integrated the practices of more than 60 attorneys into the firm.
On a day-to-day basis, she provides leadership and structure, including ensuring that exceptional people are in place, to allow the firm’s attorneys to focus on providing exceptional and cost-efficient legal services to the firm’s growing clientele. In her spare time, Susan represents and supports the firm’s sponsorship of many charitable and otherwise worthwhile community events and causes. She is an adjunct professor at the University of Idaho College of Law where she teaches leadership for lawyers. She enjoys ski vacations with her family, hiking with her two dogs, and winning skins from her husband on the golf course.
