Boise, ID – October 1, 2015. Hawley Troxell is pleased to announce managing partner Nick Miller has been elected as a Fellow to the highly selective American College of Bond Counsel, which recognizes lawyers based on their skills, accomplishment and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in their practice of bond law.
“This is a remarkable achievement,” said Mike Stoddard, chair of Hawley Troxell’s Public Finance and Public Law practice group. “Not only is Nick the first, but he is the only Idaho bond lawyer ever accorded this recognition.” It deservedly results from Nick’s skillful and dedicated service to public finance entities in Idaho.
The college, formed in 1995, deems a bond lawyer’s skill as best judged by his or her peers and thus limits membership to lawyers who have at least 10 years of substantial practice of bond law improve bond law and practice; make educational materials and continuing education opportunities readily available.
Mr. Miller’s primary practice focuses on securities offerings and municipal bond transactions. He has issued bond opinions for school districts in Idaho that enrolls over 50% of the students in the state. His significant representations include outside general counsel to College of Western Idaho, drafting the School District Bond Legislative Reforms and the forming of the General Pledge Bond System for Idaho Universities.
Mr. Miller earned his J.D. from Stanford University and his B.A., with distinction from Stanford University. He has been an active participant in various seminars and programs in the public finance areas.
